Jeeva lives with his grandmother Lakshmi in Madurai and vows to marry the girl he loves at first sight. When he lands a job as a bank manager in Chennai, his search for love takes an intriguing turn after a chance encounter in a bustling shopping mall. There he notices Divya, and something about her sparks a bold, impulsive pursuit. He even identifies the scooter she rides, setting him on a mission to find her. His quest leads him to a colony that is filled with a colorful group of comedians — Dhandabani, Michael Jackson, Major Ramachandran, Savithri, and James Thomson — a place that becomes more than just a clue in his search.
The colony folks mistake his intentions, thinking he’s there to steal the scooter, and Jeeva fabricates a story about looking for a house to rent. Despite the rocky start, he proves his resolve and soon agrees to stay in the colony once he confirms that Divya and her mother Janaki are living there. From that moment, Jeeva’s life becomes a blend of earnest courting and comic misadventures as he tries to win Divya’s heart.
To help him, the funny residents rally around Jeeva. They even seek Janaki’s view on Divya’s future marriage, though Divya herself isn’t eager to walk down the aisle. The elder woman appears lonely and carries a hidden weight, a mystery that lingers as the group brainstorms plans to bring the couple together.
