Ashi Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a free-spirited young woman, born and raised with a confident sense of self. Her days are quiet until she learns that Rohit, Sunny Deol, is away on an emergency business trip with no clear return date. In the meantime, she crosses paths with a man named Bobby, who is instantly taken with her beauty and quickly forms a friendship. He soon discovers that she has been frustrated by her failed attempts to meet Rohit, and his feelings grow deeper by the day.
Within a week, Bobby’s longing drives him to take a bold step: he disguises himself and presents himself as the Rohit she has been waiting for. Ashi feels hopeful at the chance to meet Rohit before her wedding, and as the weeks pass, she begins to warm to this new “Rohit.” Yet the truth soon surfaces—Rohit is still away on his trip, and the man Ashi has fallen for is actually Bobby. This revelation does not deter her, because she has already fallen in love with Bobby and is ready to move on from Rohit.
Upon their return to India, Ashi tells her family that she met Bobby and wants to marry him, not Rohit. At first, her family is hesitant, but after a while Bobby’s family brings a proposal for Ashi. As the two families meet and begin to plan the wedding, Bobby’s mother reveals herself as a bank manager connected to Ashi’s father, Kailashnath, who is entangled in a fraud/embezzlement case. The tension rises as Kailashnath is summoned to court, where Bobby’s mother testifies that Kailashnath is among the perpetrators. The pressure intensifies, and Kailashnath cancels Ashi’s wedding to Bobby while arranging for Ashi to marry Rohit instead.
In a turn of fate, the story resolves with Ashi choosing Bobby. After an unexpected reveal, Ashi and Bobby’s union is sealed, and she does not marry Rohit, marking a hopeful end to a tale of mistaken identities, family pressure, and enduring love.
