The film follows a solitary student whose morbid, yet innocent, fascination with death frames the story. His teacher, Koichi, is confronting his own mortality as his ailing father chooses to spend his final days at home. Seeking comfort, Koichi invites the student to meet his father, hoping the encounter will illuminate the meaning of life and death for both of them.
