In 1989, scientist Hank Pym resigns from S.H.I.E.L.D. after discovering their plans to replicate his Ant-Man shrinking technology. Concerned about the dangers posed by this technology, Pym makes a firm decision to keep his research hidden for life.

Mitchell Carson tries to pressure Hank Pym into surrendering his research on the Pym particle. His attempts are thwarted by Howard Stark and Peggy Carter, who recognize the potential dangers of the technology.

Fast forward to the present, and Darren Cross has taken over Pym Technologies, marginalizing Hank Pym. He works on his advanced Yellowjacket suit, which poses a significant danger if mass-produced, showing his intent to weaponize shrinking technology.

Hope Van Dyne is secretly trying to convince her father, Hank Pym, to let her use the original Ant-Man suit to stop Darren Cross. Despite her determination, Pym refuses to hand over the suit, fearing the dangers it holds.

After being released from prison, Scott Lang moves in with his friend Luis and his roommates. Despite his intelligence and education, his criminal record leaves him struggling to find a job, forcing him to take a position at a local Baskin-Robbins.

Scott Lang attempts an unannounced visit to his daughter, Cassie, igniting disapproval from his ex-wife Maggie and her fiancé, Paxton. They urge him to turn his life around and be a responsible father.

Determined to change his life, Scott agrees to partake in a burglary organized by Luis. During the heist, he unknowingly discovers the Ant-Man suit, and upon trying it on, he shrinks down to a tiny size, experiencing a bewildering panic.

Hank Pym visits Scott in jail, smuggling the Ant-Man suit into his cell. Pym orchestrates Scott’s escape using the assistance of ants and reveals his plan to recruit Scott as the new Ant-Man to thwart Darren Cross's ambitions.

While training Scott, Hope grapples with her feelings of resentment toward Pym, stemming from her mother's disappearance in the quantum realm. Pym explains the dangers and history of the shrinking technology he created.

Pym and Hope train Scott to master the Ant-Man suit, teaching him how to control ants and manipulate his shrinking abilities. They plan a critical mission to infiltrate Cross's lab and acquire vital data to thwart his plans.

Scott is tasked to stealthily steal a device from the Avengers' headquarters, which leads to an unexpected confrontation with Sam Wilson, aka Falcon. This mission tests Scott's resolve and budding skills as Ant-Man.

As Darren Cross prepares to unveil the Yellowjacket suit, Scott and his crew, utilizing flying ants, execute a plan to sabotage the event. Tensions rise when Darren captures Scott, Hope, and Pym, complicating their mission.

Darren Cross, now in the Yellowjacket suit, takes Cassie hostage to manipulate Scott. In a daring move, Scott shrinks down to sabotage Cross’s suit from the inside, leading to a chaotic showdown that ultimately results in Cross's defeat.

After a perilous journey, Scott temporarily finds himself lost in the quantum realm. He navigates back to the macroscopic world, showcasing his newfound capabilities and resilience as Ant-Man.

In the aftermath, Paxton supports Scott's endeavor for a better life. Hank reveals a new Wasp prototype suit to Hope, indicating a continuation of their legacy, while Sam Wilson hints at future collaborations with unique heroes.
