In the present day, Scott Lang enjoys a peaceful life post-battle with Thanos, finding success as an author and nurturing his relationship with Hope Van Dyne. Their daughter, Cassie, develops a passion for activism as they all adjust to the aftermath of their previous ordeals.

During a visit to her grandparents, Cassie reveals her invention designed to connect with the Quantum Realm. This sudden revelation alarms Janet, who swiftly deactivates the device, only for it to send out a signal that inadvertently opens a portal.

The activation of Cassie's device triggers a portal that pulls Scott, Cassie, and some evolved ants into the Quantum Realm. Separated from Janet and Hope, they find themselves in a foreign and hostile environment.

In the Quantum Realm, Scott and Cassie come across locals who resist Kang's oppressive rule. They learn about Kang's tyranny and the resistance efforts of the inhabitants seeking freedom from his control.

Janet, Hank, and Hope arrive in a sprawling city where they meet Lord Krylar, who was once an ally of Janet. They quickly realize Krylar has succumbed to Kang's influence and must escape his clutches.

Kang's henchman, M.O.D.O.K.—formerly known as Darren Cross—launches an attack against the rebels. Having mutated into a grotesque being driven by vengeance, he poses a significant threat to the freedom fighters.

Aboard Krylar’s ship, Janet reveals her troubled past with Kang, explaining how she once believed they could escape together but ultimately sabotaged their plans after realizing his ruthless nature. This history sheds light on her internal struggles and motivations.

Kang captures Cassie, using her as leverage to manipulate Scott into retrieving the power core. This hostage situation escalates the stakes, pushing the family into a desperate race against time.

Despite retrieving the power core, betrayal ensues when Kang breaks their agreement, capturing Janet and trapping Hank. The situation grows dire as the villains tighten their grip on the group.
