Matt's prank on the school band backfires, drawing the ire of the guidance counselor Chuck. Chuck punishes him by sending him to Tall Oaks Band Camp as a corrective measure. The prospect of band camp initially vexes Matt, but the rumors about the camp's social scene spark his curiosity.

Arriving at Tall Oaks, Matt is openly disrespectful to the camp rules and to the other counselors. His disruptive behavior puts the band’s performance at risk. Morale and Conflict Resolution Officer Noah Levenstein advises him to try to fit in and earn the group's trust.

Unable to resist mischief, Matt teams up with his nerdy roommate Ernie to film other band members secretly. They plan 'Bandeez Gone Wild' using hidden cameras, aiming to generate chaos and attention. The scheming marks the start of a broader escalation at Tall Oaks.
