Young nationalist Aleksander Kesküla plans to exploit Lenin and German funds to spark a Russian revolution that will secure an independent Estonia in Russia's northeast. To protect the operation, five Lenin look‑alikes are trained and dispatched to Russia to trigger the uprising. The film asks how the genuine Lenin will react to this deception.
