Adventures in Babysitting

Chris Parker is feeling down on her 17th anniversary due to a lack of excitement. To lift her spirits, she decides to invite her friend Brenda over for some fun and laughter.

After some persuasion from her mother, Chris reluctantly agrees to babysit eight-year-old Sara Anderson and her teenage brother Brad. Despite her initial hesitation, Chris takes on the challenge, deciding to make the best of her situation.

Chris receives a panicked phone call from Brenda, who is stuck at a downtown bus station. Motivated by friendship and concern, Chris quickly decides to take the kids along for an adventure to rescue Brenda.

While driving down the freeway, Chris's journey takes a wild turn when they suffer a flat tire. They meet Handsome John Pruitt, a laid-back tow truck driver who offers to cover the repair costs, but only after Chris realizes she forgot her purse.

As Pruitt drives, he receives a shocking call from his boss Dawson, revealing his wife's infidelity. Infuriated, Pruitt abruptly leaves to confront his wife, unintentionally causing damage to Chris's mother's car in the chaos.

In a moment of refuge, the group finds themselves in the Cadillac of Pruitt's wife's lover. Their brief luck runs out when the car is stolen by Joe Gipp, a crafty thief, leading to further mayhem.

They unwittingly stumble into a multi-state stolen car operation run by Graydon and Joe. Despite being scolded by Graydon for Joe's recklessness, Chris shows her resourcefulness and helps them escape from the criminals.

The group makes their way to a local blues club where they perform an impromptu number alongside the legendary Albert Collins. Their performance captures the audience's hearts, leading to an unexpected standing ovation.

Just as they celebrate their performance, Joe and Graydon catch up with them at the club. Luckily, the club owners distract the unwelcome visitors, allowing the kids a moment of respite.

During the comedic chaos, Brad reveals his feelings for Chris but is met with disappointment. Chris gently reminds him of their age difference and the complexities of their current circumstances.

Chris and Daryl decide to help a runaway streetwalker, finding themselves in another challenging situation when Graydon and Bleak pursue them yet again. Their kindness turns into chaos and they must escape swiftly.

The group takes the Chicago 'L' train to evade their pursuers but accidentally gets caught up in a violent gang fight. Brad sustains an injury, and they quickly seek refuge at the local university hospital for emergency care.

While on the run, the kids stumble upon a lively fraternity party. There, Chris catches the attention of Dan Lynch, who generously donates $45 to help them continue their journey.

When Chris returns to Dawson’s garage, a comedic twist ensues as little Sara mistakenly calls Dawson 'Thor'. In a lighthearted moment, he ultimately agrees to lend them their vehicle after a sweet negotiation led by Sara.

In the midst of chaos, Sara goes missing but is later found sliding down a rooftop. The gang bands together to rescue her during a chaotic Anderson family gathering, culminating in a confrontation with Bleak.
