Fifteen-year-old Charleen is a melodramatic and deeply depressed girl who idolizes Kurt Cobain. Feeling disconnected from her best friend and struggling with family issues—her father is absent and her mother is involved with her biology teacher—she finds solace in her apprenticeship preparing bodies for funerals. Despite finding a unique interest in her work, she feels overwhelmed by the absence of her musical heroes and longs for an escape.
