Set in 1960s Paris, a string of murders disrupts the city’s calm. On March 22, 1968, condemned prostitute Hélène Picard, previously sentenced for multiple killings, is executed by bailiff Louis Guilbeau. After her death, similar crimes resume, and Louis begins an affair with the policewoman leading the investigation. Their hidden ties and the identity of the new killer drive the inquiry.
