Dick Logan, a young writer, stops in a border town and lodges at the Mexican Inn. Two tramps see his money and plan to steal it. He befriends a Mexican girl by stopping her uncle from beating her over a broken water jar. He flees to a nearby house—the girl’s home—when the tramps break in, and she protects him, hinting at romance.
