In a letter to a friend, Agnès, a young bourgeois woman from Geneva, confesses that she has been unfaithful to her husband. Intrigued by the mannerisms a prostitute uses to lure clients, she deliberately copies them and ends up seducing the first man she encounters while sitting on a garden bench.
