A sadistic daimyo rapes a woman and murders her and her husband; when a vassal kills himself to expose the crime, the shogun silences the scandal because the daimyo is the shogun’s brother and is about to receive a powerful post. Determined that the shogunate’s future is at stake, thirteen warriors are assembled for a suicide mission to assassinate him, pitting two master strategists against each other—one defending the villain with a small force, the other leading the 13 assassins.
