Rajeshwari Radhika Kumaraswamy, a girl born under the Simha Rashi zodiac sign, harbors deep faith in Goddess Akkamma Bhanupriya. On the other side, Karkotakudu Satya Prakash lands on Earth with a mission to destroy it. The film opens with a backstory: to protect the world, Akkamma must herself go under a supernatural arrest, a release that can only be lifted when a Simha Rashi sacrifices herself in fire. It is revealed that Karkotakudu can be killed by Rajeshwari, prompting the demon to mount repeated attempts to take her life.
In the present, Rajeshwari weds Prasad Richard Rishi, the heir to a wealthy family whose cruel treatment and drugging destabilize him, all to seize the wealth. Despite this, Rajeshwari’s divine power grows, and she uses it to shield her husband from the schemes of his own kin. Soon she becomes a mother. Yet the threat from Karkotakudu remains, and Akkamma steps into the world in human form to rescue her.
Next, Prasad’s sarpa-matsya dosha arises, and with Akkamma’s intervention Rajeshwari eliminates it. Tragically, their child is forcibly killed, and the villainous family sows distrust among the villagers, spreading the lie that Rajeshwari is responsible for the tragedy. Under the demon’s influence, Prasad’s relatives label Rajeshwari as bad luck and drive her out.
As the cosmic deadline nears, Akkamma again must submit to the arrest to keep cosmic balance. Karkotakudu intensifies his assault on Prasad, but Rajeshwari’s unwavering faith and the power of wife’s love (signaled by haldi and kumkuma) shield him. Still, the family strips Rajeshwari of her kumkuma and mangalsutra and binds her in white, effectively painting her as a widow though her husband lives.
Heartbroken and exiled, Rajeshwari seeks sanctuary in Akkamma’s temple. Karkotakudu returns for a final strike, and Akkamma is unable to aid due to her own captivity. The only path to salvation lies in a Simha Rashi sacrifice, but Rajeshwari, drained by suffering, leaps into the fire first. The demon learns that a widow’s sacrifice is not accepted by the powers, and at that moment Rajeshwari must be restored as a married woman in order to complete the ritual. Other goddesses lend their symbolic tokens—kumkuma, mangalsutra, a red sari, jasmine, rings, kohl, toe rings, necklaces, and bangles—to re-anchor her identity as a wife.
The plan works. The arrest breaks, and a divine energy arises from the fire, transforming Rajeshwari into Goddess Narasimhi, the fierce feminine form of Narasimha. With this power, she defeats Karkotakudu, and peace returns. Akkamma reveals that her child was never truly dead and that she watched over him. The child is returned to the family, and Prasad’s mind is restored. The film closes on a hopeful note as they walk away together, with the blessing and triumph of goddess power echoed in the final line Jai Mata Di.
