On Christmas Eve 1976, a bus travelling through a village in the newly created Tarnobrzeg province strikes a young married couple and a twelve‑year‑old boy. While dozens of residents watch, the three are brutally beaten to death with a wheel wrench. In the wake of the crime the whole community adopts a collective silence, protecting the perpetrators. The film’s dramatic narrative is rooted in the real 1976 Polanieck murder case.
