In the year 2010, Shinichi Ichikawa faces numerous life challenges as a 3rd-grade teacher. He struggles with a failing marriage, a cheating spouse, and a troubled son who suffers bullying due to his father's profession.

To cope with his mundane life, Shinichi escapes into the persona of Zebraman every night, a character he idolized from a 1970s tokusatsu TV series. This transformation offers him a brief respite from his everyday dissatisfaction.

Shinichi's life takes a turn when he befriends a wheelchair-bound transfer student named Shinpei Asano, who shares his passion for Zebraman. Their friendship not only rekindles Shinichi's love for teaching but also ignites feelings for Shinpei's mother.
