You Won't Be Alone

In a dark turn of fate, Maria, a horrifying witch known as a 'Wolf-Eateress', enters the home of a newborn baby girl. The terrified mother, Elica, negotiates with Maria to spare her daughter’s life, promising to give her up when the child turns 16 in exchange for her safety.

Elica hides her daughter, Nevena, in a cave, raising her in total ignorance of the outside world. Nevena grows up isolated, and on her 16th birthday, the agreement set by Elica comes into play, leading to a severe confrontation.

Maria returns as an eagle and, after a chase, kills Elica, taking her form to deceive Nevena. She performs a dark ritual by killing a donkey and using its blood to turn Nevena into a witch, endowing her with deadly talons.

Maria attempts to mentor Nevena in the ways of witchcraft, teaching her to hunt and consume blood from animals for power. Nevena, however, rebels against this dark path, opting instead to play with the animals.

Frustrated by Nevena's refusal to embrace her witchly nature, Maria abandons her. Left to fend for herself, Nevena learns the brutal truths of survival and observes Maria from a distance, picking up on her shapeshifting abilities.

In a tragic mistake, Nevena kills a young mother in a village and assumes her form using the woman’s entrails. She becomes Bosilka, struggling to navigate her life while embodying someone else's identity.

As Bosilka, Nevena faces challenges in adapting to human life, grappling with communication and societal norms. The villagers perceive her strange behavior as madness, unaware of her true nature as a witch.

When Bosilka's abusive husband attempts to assault her, the panic triggers Nevena's instinct to kill. She reverts back to her original self by removing Bosilka's entrails and flees, confused about her identity.

Nevena shapeshifts into a dog and lures away a man, Boris, to kill him and take on his identity. In her new form, she learns agricultural skills and navigates village life, though still retaining a childlike innocence.

While living as Boris, Nevena experiences a newfound sense of companionship with a local woman. Her struggle to connect with others heightens when she encounters a dying child, testing her understanding of love and loss.

Nevena learns about the tragic history of 'Old Maid Maria,' who became a witch after a series of unfortunate events involving a witch’s curse, an abusive marriage, and finally, a life of suffering that led her to become the very monster she is.

After years as Biliana, Nevena marries Jovan, feeling true love for the first time. But her happiness is cut short when Jovan is killed by a wild boar, provoking deep grief and fear for her own child's safety.

Nevena faces her fears when Maria confronts her with her baby. In a shocking act, Maria takes Nevena's child's life, pushing Nevena to use her powers to save her daughter, marking a desperate turning point in her life.

In a climactic battle of wills, Nevena, empowered by love for her child, kills Maria, confessing her fear and separation from humanity. As Maria dies, Nevena reflects on the lives she has lived, finally finding a sense of closure.
