The documentary examines Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, where over two million Japanese war dead are enshrined, including more than 1,000 convicted war criminals from the 1946‑48 Tokyo tribunals—among them 14 Class‑A offenders such as Hideki Tōjō. Beyond the well‑known political controversies, the film delves into the shrine’s historic sword‑making craft, using the Yasukuni sword as a recurring motif.
