News of Jobert's parents' murder and Melo's disappearance spreads around the globe, drawing international attention and scrutiny. Heads of state, journalists, and criminal forces alike take interest in the treasure legend. The search becomes a worldwide affair, complicating the quest.

Jobert arrives at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila and endures a tense interrogation by police General Rivas. The encounter sows doubt about his movements and motives, while authorities begin to view him as a figure of interest. This airport scene marks the perilous start of his Philippine mission.

Jobert happily reunites with old friends in Manila, but the reunion turns deadly when mercenaries ambush them and take the group to Edmundo 'Emong' Mariano. The abduction exposes the scale of the conspiracy and the danger surrounding Melo's legacy. Emong's role as ally and possible insider becomes increasingly murky.

Nolasco explains that the abduction was a preventive operation to protect Jobert and his friends from corrupt PAOCTF officers who aim to seize the treasure. He names Naguchi, a Japanese WWII veteran, and his underboss Jarco as the masterminds behind the plot. Emong is unveiled as part of the broader governmental world behind the operation.

Emong leads the team on a high-speed escape across the highway, pursued by the syndicate's henchmen. They manage to break free and board a small yacht that takes them toward an inter-island ship acting as a safehouse. The chase underscores the violent stakes of obtaining Melo's treasure.
