Wicked: For Good

The Yellow Brick Road is under construction as Elphaba returns to Oz years after defying the Wizard. She swoops in to free the exploited animals and scares off the soldiers. This act cements her reputation as the Wicked Witch of the West and pushes Oz into fear and chaos.

The Wizard and Madame Morrible promote Glinda, using Pfannee and ShenShen as their subordinates to project power. Morrible's propaganda paints Elphaba as a threat, deepening the public's fear. Glinda attends a bubble demonstration designed to mimic magic and appearances.

A short flashback shows a young Glinda receiving a magic wand but realizing she has no real magic. A rainbow appears, fooling others into thinking she created something magical, which fills her with quiet sadness. The moment foreshadows her later illusion of power and her insecurities.

Glinda and Fiyero's engagement is announced during the grand unveiling of the Yellow Brick Road in Munchkinland. They present a united front for the public, but privately they fear Elphaba's return. Glinda suspects Fiyero is playing along to keep her happy rather than truly loving her.

Elphaba writes OUR WIZARD LIES in the clouds, trying to expose the Wizard. Morrible retaliates by writing OZ DIES to inflame fear among the Oz population. A chase ensues as Fiyero's guards, Chistery, and the flying monkeys pursue Elphaba into the forest.

Nessa has become governor of Munchkinland and Boq serves as her head guard. Boq learns that travel rights for Munchkins are being revoked, and he leaves to protest the change. Nessa insists she is not like Elphaba and wants control without appearing wicked.

Elphaba discovers animals escaping Oz via a tunnel under the Yellow Brick Road and tries to persuade them to stay. The Cowardly Lion presents himself as a former ally turned accuser, implying Elphaba stole his home. The animals press on toward freedom despite Elphaba's pleas.

Elphaba visits Nessa and uses the Grimmerie to enchant Nessa's ruby slippers, giving her the ability to fly. Boq confesses his feelings for Glinda, but his heart is broken when Nessa resists him; her counter spell backfires, transforming Boq into Tin Man. Elphaba exits, leaving Boq filled with vengeful rage.

In Emerald City's wedding of Glinda and Fiyero, Elphaba and Glinda confront the Wizard about his true lies. Elphaba frees Chistery and other animals, causing chaos, and Fiyero's guards capture Elphaba's broom-wielding foes; Glinda encourages their escape as Morrible's weather scheme begins to unfold.

Elphaba and Fiyero admit their love in the woods and share a night together, while Glinda walks among the ruins of the ceremony. Morrible accelerates her plan to harm Elphaba and seize control of Oz, intensifying the conflict between the witch and the regime.

Morrible unleashes a deadly storm that creates a powerful tornado, pulling a house from another world into Oz. Nessa is crushed by the falling house as she travels toward Munchkinland, and Dorothy Gale is swept into Oz by the same storm. Glinda gives Dorothy Nessa's shoes and directs her toward the Emerald City.

Elphaba uses a spell to save Fiyero from bleeding, transforming him into the Scarecrow. Dorothy, Scarecrow Fiyero, Tin Man Boq, and the Lion confront the Wizard and demand Elphaba's broom. Elphaba surrenders to protect her friends; Dorothy douses her with water, seemingly killing her. Glinda mourns as Chistery reveals Elphaba's green elixir and the Wizard exits Oz, leaving Glinda to rule Oz. The Grimmerie awakens for Glinda as Elphaba and Fiyero ride toward a new life in the desert.
