On November 2, 1975, poet‑filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini was discovered dead on Rome’s outskirts. Police detained a 17‑year‑old hustler who claimed self‑defence, arguing Pasolini’s notorious sexual behaviour provoked him. Investigators quickly noted numerous inconsistencies, implying the teen was not acting alone—or may not have been assaulted at all—and raising the possibility of another motive behind the killing.
