The documentary recounts the 1982 murder of Vincent Chin, an auto engineer mistaken for Japanese and killed by a Detroit worker who blamed him for Japanese competition threatening his job. The shooter avoided conviction; film was restored by Academy Archive/Film Foundation, backed by Chinese American Museum and Hobson/Lucas Family Foundation.
