White Fang

Jack Conroy arrives in Alaska during the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush, determined to find his father's mining claim. He meets two mushers, Clarence 'Skunker' Thurston and Alex Larson, who reluctantly agree to guide him. The harsh wilderness and the looming danger of a wolf pack set the tone for the journey ahead.

On their first night at a camp, a wolf lures a sled dog away while another wolf chases it into the woods. Skunker bravely tries to save the dog and is killed by the pack. The surviving men endure a grim reminder of the wild's brutality.

That night the wolves return and are driven off by burning branches, but the following morning the pack attacks again. A female wolf named Kiche is mortally shot during the confrontation, and she dies, leaving her cub to fend for itself.

The travelers reach a Hän settlement, where Grey Beaver the chief recognizes White Fang as a wolfdog and names him accordingly. He takes the cub in, marking the beginning of White Fang's life with the Hän.

Spring arrives as Jack and Grey Beaver attempt to shape White Fang's temperament. When a grizzly bear attacks, White Fang defends Jack, leading to a tense standoff that ends with the bear retreating.

Not long after, White Fang is unfairly traded to Beauty Smith, a sadistic dogfighter, and Grey Beaver is pressured into the sale. Smith and his gang begin training and abusing White Fang for brutal fights.

White Fang earns his reputation in Smith's brutal arena, facing a bulldog in a vicious match. Jack discovers the fight just in time, intervenes, and frees White Fang, vowing to expose Smith's crimes.

Having earlier left the claim, Jack finally reaches his father's mining site and begins digging for gold on the Yukon claim. White Fang accompanies him as a loyal companion in this harsh new life.

Jack returns to the Larson homestead with White Fang, intending to help temper his wild nature and build a life around their mining efforts.

Smith's henchmen attack the Larson cabin with guns and explosives, hoping to steal their gold and retaliate against Jack. White Fang defends Jack, and the confrontation leaves Luke wounded as Smith's men press their advantage.

Jack and Alex corner Smith and his men, forcing them at gunpoint to haul gold ore into town as punishment for their crimes. The would-be criminals are brought to justice on Jack and Alex's terms.

Alex and Belinda offer to take Jack back to San Francisco, but he explains that city life is no place for a wolf and must stay. He uses a stick to remind White Fang of his fear from Smith, and White Fang runs off, unsettled by the prospect of leaving the wild behind.

Just as a ship to San Francisco is ready to depart, Jack resolves to remain in the Yukon and live off the land, honoring his father's legacy in the wild.

A short time later, White Fang returns to the cabin site and happily reunites with Jack. The two decide to forge a life together in the wilderness, bonded by trust and shared experience.
