Set in the Yukon, Canada in 1899, about three years after the events of the first White Fang, the tale follows a new chapter in the life of the wolf-dog’s world. Mitsah, the young boy from the previous film, is now a pre-teen working with his wolf-dog and two fur traders when Beauty Smith and two henchmen raid the traders’ camp, shooting and killing all who stand in their way, including Mitsah, and escape in a canoe with all their equipment. Hours later, the loyal wolf-dog is found by John Tarwater John Tarwater, a weathered trader who buries the boy and brings the fated hound back to his hometown. The dog’s fierce bond with humans deepens as it befriends Bill Tarwater, John Tarwater’s ten-year-old grandson, who names the wolf-dog White Fang after the gleaming ivory teeth he sees in the creature’s mouth. The moment marks the quiet beginning of a season in which loyalty, hardship, and pride clash with corruption and danger.

In a local saloon, White Fang helps John Tarwater win a card game from a crooked card-sharp, a scene that erupts into a fistfight while the dog and Bill take cover behind the bar. As John quietly counts his winnings, the dog’s presence steadies the town’s nerves, hinting at the unusual partnership that will define their days. John soon sets out on one of his periodic expeditions to search for gold, leaving Bill to watch the dog and learn the rough rhythms of frontier life. Meanwhile, Beauty Smith remains a malignant presence in the town, living under the alias “Charles Forth” and feigning a crippling injury to maintain control. A new mission hut is rising under the leadership of Sister Evangelina, a determined healer who aims to build a hospital and asks the so‑called Mr. Forth for funding, only to be warned that a businessman’s loan must be repaid with interest within sixty days.

Sister Evangelina reaches out to the traveler-writer Jason Scott [Jason Scott], who is touring the South and traveling with the belief that truth can reveal corrupt power. He agrees to help, and he also reconnects with his old friend Kurt Jansen [Kurt Jansen], who now works as a mines inspector. The trio takes their charges to town’s police chief, Inspector Leclerq [Inspector Leclerq], who is secretly on Beauty Smith’s payroll. Leclerq’s wife, Jane Leclerc [Jane Leclerc], presses her husband to accommodate Smith’s schemes in exchange for bribes, a dynamic that shows how deeply corruption runs in the town.

Scott’s efforts to expose the illicit ties falter when a local worker named Liverpool agrees to back him with a statement, then reneges and disappears. As White Fang drags Bill and Scott back to town after the dog’s earlier encounter with a runaway sled team, the animal’s loyalty to his boy rekindles trust and tenderness in both. Elsewhere, Kurt meets Liverpool’s younger sister, a romance that adds a human thread to the perilous world around them.

The following day brings tragedy and courage alike. Liverpool returns with two men, one dead and the other crippled by frostbite, whom Beauty Smith had exploited with overpriced supplies. Carter, a man in the town, suffers gangrene in both legs, and Scott teams with Sister Evangelina to perform a harrowing amputation at the mission hut. When Smith and his henchmen recognize White Fang, they frame the dog for savaging Liverpool to death, turning the townspeople against the animal and forcing Bill to drive the dog out of town in outrage and fear.

In the woods, Bill is attacked by a vicious eagle, but White Fang leaps to his defense and drives off the predator. Bill smuggles the wounded dog back to the mission, where Evangelina’s care helps him recover. John Tarwater returns and learns of a gold‑stream location from Carter’s cautious hints, but the conversation is overheard by Harvey, a mission employee aligned with Beauty Smith. Jane fakes sickness to draw Evangelina away from the hut, leaving Carter alone; Smith, now unmasked as a true menace, tortures Carter to learn the location of the gold stream and kidnaps John Tarwater, setting the mission hut ablaze. Carter perishes in the fire, and Evangelina is fatally burned while trying to save Bill.

The town erupts in anger as the truth about Smith and Leclerq’s corruption surfaces. A mob storms the police station, and Leclerq shoots himself rather than face justice. Scott, Kurt, and Bill rally White Fang to pursue Smith, who has fled with his henchmen. The ensuing gun battle leaves several dead on both sides, and White Fang finally reaches Smith, ending the villain’s threat with a fierce attack, though an avalanche triggered by the gunfire also seals Smith’s fate. Scott and Kurt then locate John Tarwater, who is gravely wounded but alive long enough to reveal that the gold stream near him should belong to Bill Tarwater, as Carter had advised, the rightful beneficiary of the claim.

The treachery of Harvey becomes a final obstacle as he proposes a dog-sled race to determine ownership of the claim, hoping to cheat fate with dirty tricks. The plan backfires when Harvey falls from his sled and is crushed by the team led by White Fang. The chase ends with Scott, Kurt, and White Fang arriving in the town first, and Scott places Bill Tarwater’s name in the ledger as the rightful claimant. In the closing scenes, Scott bids farewell to Kurt, who remains as the town’s new police inspector, and Scott confirms his engagement to Liverpool’s sister, sealing a fragile peace in the wake of so much violence. Bill stays to grow up under Kurt and his wife, with White Fang loyally choosing to stay by his young master’s side as he returns to Vancouver with new stories to tell—while White Fang looks back one last time before running after Scott, choosing companionship over solitude.

This adventurous tableau blends rugged frontier grit with heartfelt bonds, showing how loyalty, courage, and moral resolve endure even as people and power clash in a snowbound landscape. It expands on the legacy of White Fang by weaving new allies, old enemies, and a community’s struggle to rise above corruption, while keeping the wolf-dog at the heart of every turning point and decision.
