French police, led by Captain Klaus Pistor, question Claire Porter as she recovers from the brutal mauling. Claire asserts that the shadowy figure resembled a man, which leads to the arrest of Talan Gwynek. She later dies in the hospital from her wounds.

Katherine Samantha Moore requests to represent Talan, and Eric Sarin works as her investigator. Kate hires Dr. Gavin Flemyng to join the defense team. The new team begins preparing for the case against Talan.

During the interview with Talan at the police station, a struggle breaks out with the authorities. Gavin is bitten by Talan while trying to shield Kate. The bite marks the start of Gavin's own descent toward the werewolf affliction.

The defense team travels to Talan’s remote house in the woods to interview his mother. Mrs. Gwynek claims that she is originally from Romania and says Talan would have been too physically weak due to a genetic condition passed down through the males. She also suggests the police are targeting Talan to seize their land for a nuclear waste disposal site.

Gavin attempts to flirt with Kate, which stirs resentment from Eric. He also begins feeling increasingly ill after the scratch, signaling the onset of his own affliction and complicating the defense.

The defense team begins suspecting porphyria as the cause of Talan's condition. A stress test with a strobe light in police custody triggers a violent reaction, and Talan uses apparent superhuman strength to kill those in the room and escapes the building.

A citywide manhunt leads to an abandoned building where Talan is captured on camera transforming into a werewolf. He attacks an armed assault team and escapes, triggering a second chase.

A renewed manhunt corners Talan, who kills several police officers. He is riddled with bullets and his body is transported in a police vehicle, presumed dead by the pursuers.

While becoming increasingly ill, Gavin investigates the Gwynek residence and ends up killing Mrs. Gwynek after realizing he shares the same affliction as Talan. He shaves off all body hair as he embraces his new werewolf alter ego and howls at the Moon in his final form.

In the commotion at the crash site, Talan kills Eric. Gavin arrives to battle the other werewolf, and the fight ends when Gavin strangles Talan, presumably killing him.

Kate confronts the transformed Gavin at gunpoint. Before she can shoot him, a sniper’s bullet from Captain Pistor in a police helicopter wounds Kate. Gavin, enraged, throws an assault-team member into the helicopter, causing it to crash and killing Pistor.

News footage reveals that Kate survived and Captain Pistor is implicated in a conspiracy to seize the Gwynek land. Talan’s body was never recovered and is presumed still at large. Gavin’s true identity as a werewolf remains secret, and he asserts that Talan was a werewolf.
