Parasuram, Samuthirakani is an assistant general manager in a Chennai-based electronics-focused MNC who dreams of retiring as general manager. He is a domineering figure who puts his own interests first, often at the expense of his family — Easwari, Veena, Gayathri, and Arun, who works abroad. After a road accident, he dies and wakes in a dark, surreal place where a man dressed in black calls himself Time and explains that Parasuram’s time on Earth is over.
Parasuram pleads to return, insisting that his company and family depend on him. Time agrees but imposes a strict three-month limit and requires Parasuram to stay with Time at all times. With that pact, Parasuram returns home, Time in tow, and resumes life with a new, uneasy partnership.
Over the next three months, Parasuram confronts a string of personal and professional tests. He is bypassed for the post of General Manager by Venugopal, a young IIM graduate, prompting him to resign in protest — only to learn that Easwari has fallen ill with early-stage Parkinson’s disease and needs treatment in the US. Time also makes him realize that his savings are dwindling. Meanwhile, Veena rejects an arranged marriage with Krishnamoorthy’s son and runs off with her boyfriend, straining the family further. Arun comes home claiming he has lost his job and reveals a live-in relationship with an Indian American woman who calls herself Andrea but who also introduces herself as Mahalakshmi when needed.
Parasuram then arranges a marriage for Gayathri with Krishnamoorthy’s son to protect his family’s reputation, even as Gayathri herself would prefer to study abroad. Weeks later, Parasuram is insulted in a board meeting for being absent, but his passionate outburst in a bar catches the attention of the managing director. The MD’s interest shifts, and Parasuram’s idea helps the company grow profits, accelerating his ascent to managing director. He brings Easwari home and, with Time’s help, learns that Veena’s and Arun’s choices are not as simple as they seemed. He also discovers a troubling revelation about Krishnamoorthy’s son and a pregnancy, which leads him to cancel Gayathri’s wedding so she can pursue further studies.
From that point, Parasuram grows more humble, devotes time to his family, and acts with greater integrity. He even pays for Gayathri’s higher studies in Switzerland in advance. Yet with only ten days left in the three-month window, Parasuram pledges his organs and, in a final moment of candor, confesses that he cheated others in the past in the name of job and love. Time then reveals that Venugopal is the son of Madhanagopal, who Parasuram had cheated thirty years earlier to secure a job; Madhanagopal’s better life became Venugopal’s, which is why Venugopal rose to the top.
Time also points to Parasuram’s past betrayal of Sathya, a woman who had loved him deeply; she had attempted suicide but survived and eventually rose to become the Governor of Meghalaya. Time makes a call to Sathya so that Parasuram can apologize, but she cuts the call after recognizing his voice. The moment makes Parasuram realize that his transformation is genuine, and Time agrees to accompany him to heaven. They walk together toward the afterlife, even as the film hints that Parasuram’s death may have occurred in his sleep.
In the final credits, a politician confronts Time at a rally. Time notes that his time is up for good, and the screen fades to black, leaving the audience with a quiet meditation on redemption, time, and the costs of pride.
