Vikramadithyan

Kunjunni, a witty thief, falls in love with Lakshmi, a police constable. To win her, he hides his criminal identity and poses as a police constable so he can marry her before Shenoy can persuade Lakshmi's family.

Shenoy expresses his desire to marry Lakshmi, but Kunjunni beats him to the altar by maintaining the police disguise. Lakshmi's mother objects to the match, but the ceremony goes ahead and the couple wed. Shenoy's plans to win Lakshmi are foiled by the deception.

Shenoy marries, and both couples are blessed with baby boys on the same day. The twins' births deepen the ties between the families and plant the seeds for a future rivalry between the sons.

Lakshmi learns that Kunjunni cheated by hiding his true identity. Rather than exposing him, she chooses to keep up the amicable facade, pretending their marriage remains stable.

In childhood, Adithyan believes his father is a policeman like Vikram. They become rivals at school and wager that the loser must salute the winner, a habit that follows them into adulthood, with Adithyan usually on the losing end.

Kunjunni is caught by Shenoy and his team during a robbery and paraded half-naked through the street. Unable to bear the humiliation and Lakshmi's scolding, he goes to a bridge and takes his own life.

Two years pass and Vikram becomes a hardworking young man while Adithyan descends into laziness and petty illegal activities. The two brothers figure differently in the world, foreshadowing future conflict and reconciliation.

Adithyan falls in love with Deepika, Vikram's close friend. After finishing their degrees they decide to apply for the SI selection test, setting up a new rivalry built on mutual respect.

During the SI selection, Shenoy is spiteful toward Adithyan, who still edges out Vikram in the preliminary round. Vikram acknowledges Adithyan's superior intellect and shows deep respect for his rival.

Shenoy traps Adithyan in a narcotics case and guards the evidence personally. Vikram secretly swaps the evidence with lactose powder, saving Adithyan from conviction, and the two acknowledge a mutual, grudging respect.

Shenoy convinces Lakshmi that he is the one who swapped the evidence and asks her for a favor. Lakshmi hides the interview memo, resulting in only Vikram's name appearing on the final exam list.

A heartbroken Adithyan blames Lakshmi for Kunjunni's death and disappears into the night. He leaves behind his friends and Lakshmi to cope with the consequences.

Two years later Vikram has become SI and attends Shenoy's retirement ceremony, where Lokesh is a guest. Lokesh reveals that he met Adithyan on a train to Delhi and saved him from suicide, and the two become close friends and roommates. With Lokesh's push, Adithyan clears UPSC and becomes an IPS officer in the Kerala cadre, posted as ACP under Shenoy and Vikram. Shenoy is forced to salute his former rival.

Vikram publicly salutes Adithyan and the two friends reconcile. Vikram asks Adithyan to accept Deepika's love and hints that his own goal is to catch up with Adithyan.
