Velayudham

Bharathi, a young journalist, teams with two friends to probe a string of terrorist attacks and illegal trafficking in Chennai. Their investigations lead them to a secluded house where illicit activities are taking place, which they document on camera. Their presence is soon detected by a group of thugs.

During the escape, Bharathi and her friends are confronted by thugs; the two friends are killed, and Bharathi is stabbed but survives. The attackers flee, but the thugs' vehicle explodes due to a misstep with a match and petrol, ending the threat.

Bharathi survives the assault and resolves to tackle society's evils by promoting a fictional hero named Velayudham. He becomes a symbol to clean up the city, inspiring hope among the people.

In a village, Velu, also known as Velayudham, lives with his younger sister Kaveri and is cared for by his cousin Vaidehi, who is infatuated with him. He works as a milk vendor and leads an ordinary life.

Velu, Kaveri, and Vaidehi travel to Chennai to collect money from a chit fund for Kaveri's marriage. The trip will test their resolve as Velu begins to step toward his future as Velayudham.

At Chennai Egmore railway station, Speedu steals Velu's money. Velu chases him on a motorbike and recovers the cash, but the parked bike explodes after he dismounts. The bomb was meant to trigger a terrorist attack, and Velu's quick action inadvertently prevents a catastrophe.

Following a string of near-misses where Velu foils attacks unknowingly, Bharathi recognizes his potential and persuades him to become the vigilante Velayudham. She emphasizes that he can inspire the public to stand up against evil.

Velu adopts the Velayudham persona and begins eradicating societal evils like corruption, prostitution, and terrorism. He wins public admiration and earns the support of the police, becoming a symbol of hope in the city.

Months later Velu returns to Pavunoor for Kaveri's marriage, reconnecting with family. Meanwhile, Velayudham's campaign continues to unfold in the city as he balances his two lives.

The terrorist leader Musafir Ibrahim tracks Velu to Pavunoor, intent on killing him for thwarting his plans in Chennai. Velu remains wary as the hunt intensifies and danger moves closer to home.

On the day of Kaveri's marriage, a bomb planted by Ibrahim explodes at Velu's house, killing Kaveri and shocking Velu. The attack marks a turning point that fuels Velu's resolve to combat evil and protect the people.

A few days later, Bharathi reveals that Home Minister Ulaganathan is behind the attacks and Kaveri's death, having allowed Ibrahim to strike for money. Ulaganathan plans to publicly claim Velayudham's idea and reveal Ibrahim's identity at a stadium function. Velu travels to Chennai, defeats Ibrahim, exposes Ulaganathan's misdeeds, and reveals himself as Velayudham to the world.
