Veere Di Wedding

Kalindi has been living with her boyfriend Rishabh in Australia for two years. She has a strong phobia of marriage and opposes it in theory, influenced by her troubled family background including her father's quick remarriage after her mother's death. Despite her reservations, she agrees to marry Rishabh to make him happy, though she remains conflicted about the institution.

Kalindi travels to Delhi to get married and stays with her uncle Kuki and his partner for the wedding. She is overwhelmed by Rishabh's supportive, religious family and their focus on wedding rituals, which she finds excessive and stifling to her sense of independence. She also feels distanced from her own family and estranged from her father Kishan.

During the engagement celebration, Avni gets drunk and sleeps with Rishabh's cousin Bhandari, leading to a scandal. Sakshi leaves early due to gossip and judgment, and Meera faces questions about her family's religious traditions. Rishabh comments on Kalindi's lack of a proper family, which infuriates her, causing her to leave the event upset.

Kalindi finds comfort in her childhood home with her friends after the engagement fiasco. Rishabh apologizes, and they decide to break off their marriage, as Kalindi feels she cannot meet the expectations of his family. This decision strains their relationship, but they part amicably to respect each other's feelings.

To escape their troubles, Kalindi, Avni, Sakshi, and Meera go on a vacation to Thailand. During this trip, they share their personal issues: Kalindi’s fear of commitment, Avni’s quest to find the right partner, Sakshi’s unresolved divorce, and Meera’s strained marriage with John. This time helps them reconnect and confront their individual challenges.

Back home, Sakshi decides to pursue a divorce after revealing her husband's misunderstanding of her personal needs, including her masturbation with a vibrator. Avni plans to explore different relationships while delaying settling down, and her mother promises to support her decisions.

Sakshi shares the news of her divorce settlement with her friends and the gossiping women. She chooses to support her decision for independence and financial security, challenging societal judgments about her divorce and her choice to move forward.

Meera and John rekindle their relationship after their year-long separation and communication. John plans to fly to India to meet the family and to take his wife and son back to the United States, signaling a hopeful new chapter for their family.

Avni informs her mother about her reluctance to settle down immediately and decides to explore various romantic connections, including Bhandari, who shows interest in her. She remains non-committal but open to new experiences, prioritizing her independence and personal growth.
