Priya refuses to discuss the incident because she was sexually molested while unconscious after being hit by a jeep. She was left abandoned by her attackers and woke up in the hospital. The trauma is so severe that she no longer feels safe living with Abi in the hills or anywhere else, which is why she leaves the hospital in fury and immediately starts packing her bags.

Earlier, Priya had warned Abi multiple times that the locals were different from city people and that they needed to be more careful, hinting at her growing sense of vulnerability.

Priya is attacked by her ill-intentioned neighbors Josey, Johnny, and their right-hand man Jithin. They hit her with a jeep while she was at the convent library, leaving her seriously injured and unconscious. They then abandoned her, and she was taken to the hospital.

The sense of menace had been building since the couple's arrival, with Priya noticing people staring at them and a prowler watching her through the bathroom window.

The contractor targets Preman because his son was caught with the contractor's daughter Sandra in the bushes. The contractor's family views this as a serious transgression and has been threatening Preman's life. Preman's mother explains to Abi that the contractor's family is now seeking revenge against her son.

These early stalking incidents foreshadow the more serious violence that follows, as the locals' predatory behavior escalates from watching to attacking.
