Urlaub auf Sylt (1957) is an East German documentary by Annelie and Andrew Thorndike. It examines former SS general Heinz Reinefarth, who helped suppress the Warsaw Uprising and later served as mayor of Westerland on Sylt. Archival footage and interviews reveal his wartime crimes and critique his post‑war political role, serving as a DEFA indictment of former Nazis in public office.
