Torment

During a quiet family dinner, intruders break into the Bronson home. Jim orders Maggie to go outside to check on noises, and Maggie finds their dog dead before she is attacked and killed. The intruders then kill Jim and proceed upstairs to assault Mary, the daughter.

Cory Morgan drives his wife Sarah and their seven-year-old son Liam to their secluded vacation house. They are grieving Liam's birth mother and notice rotten food and used linens, realizing squatters have moved in. They call Officer Hawkings, who says little can be done about break-ins but offers his card to help Sarah feel safer.

Hawkings explains that there's little he can do about the break-in, but he provides his card to help Sarah feel safer staying in the house. He warns them to be vigilant and leaves them with some reassurance. The moment sets a fragile sense of safety before the night worsens.

Sarah and Cory hear strange noises during the night and search the property for Liam. They discover Liam is missing, and Sarah injures her foot stepping on a nail outside. The search underscores the danger lurking in the secluded home.

They find Officer Hawkings tied up in his patrol car, which suddenly explodes. A mouse-masked stranger watches the flames, signaling that the danger is personal and escalating.

Cory leaves Sarah to seek help at the Bronson home and discovers a brutal murder scene there. He is then confronted by the mouse-masked and rabbit-masked intruders and is knocked unconscious.

The intruders wear masks made from Liam’s large stuffed animals, identifying themselves as Mr. Mouse, Pig Lady, Little Rabbit, and Little Monkey. The masked figures create a ritual of terror around their kidnapping and torture. Their common link to Liam's world ties the horrors to the family at stake.

Cory awakens to Mr. Mouse torturing him with a car battery and forcing him to tell Liam that he does not love him. Liam is dragged away by Little Rabbit, who laughs and cements the intruders’ control. Mr. Mouse proclaims 'He is part of our family now' as Cory is restrained and a plastic bag is taped over his head.

Back at the Morgan house, Sarah is pursued by Pig Lady. She escapes and drowns Pig Lady in a forest creek after a struggle, buying time to continue the fight against the group.

Cory breaks free, finds Liam, and reassures him that his harsh words came from torture, not love. Little Monkey interrupts with a pitchfork; Cory unmasks her and discovers she is brainwashed Mary Bronson. He knocks her out and escapes into the forest with Liam.

Mr. Mouse captures Sarah again. Cory hears her screams and rushes to rescue them; Sarah electrocuts Mr. Mouse with a car battery and flees outside with Cory.

Little Rabbit emerges with a rifle and fires at Cory and Liam as they run. He hesitates to shoot Liam, and Sarah pleads for mercy. The gun fires empty, and Sarah subdues Little Rabbit after a struggle.

After processing the crime scene, a police officer stops Mary Bronson’s squad car. Mr. Mouse beats the officer to death with a rock after the windshield is damaged. He retrieves his mask from an evidence bag and drives away as Mary whispers that she knew he would come for her; he replies that the father will be coming.

Little Rabbit unshackles himself from the gurney, unmasks, and grabs a scalpel as he plans to murder the ambulance driver. The threat lingers as the night continues to close in on the survivors.
