Once upon a time, amidst the backdrop of war, a young soldier makes a bold choice to go AWOL. With the prospect of undergoing a sex change operation looming, she grapples with her deeply ingrained religious beliefs. The complexities of her past resurface when her estranged son, a now-deserter seeking her out, enters her life unexpectedly.
