In black‑and‑white, the film follows Aniela, a nonagenarian played by Danuta Szaflarska, as she spends her final days in an old wooden house filled with relics. She fights a hostile neighbor who wants to buy and demolish the property and a well‑meaning son whose actions breed paranoia. Her dog Fila offers comfort, and she watches the neighbors.
