Three murder vignettes blend with the uncanny. A museum worker discovers a hidden realm behind the artwork he tends. Two lifelong friends love the same woman; when she is killed they become suspects and must decide if their bond can provide alibis. A young politician, spurned by Foreign Secretary Lord Mountdrago, invades his dreams to exact revenge.
