Thiru, a man who navigates life with both speech and hearing disabilities and holds a degree in civil engineering, shares a busy, principled existence working alongside his father, Marimuthu, a diligent building contractor. Thiru is known for his honesty and a quick temper, yet underneath lies a loyal heart. He is betrothed to Bhavani, the niece of his aunt, and the pair look forward to a secure future together.

When a sack of concrete plummets from a construction site, Marimuthu ends up in a government hospital. Thiru, his sister Chithra, and Bhavani hurry to the hospital to stand by him through the crisis. At the ward, an elevator sequence with Aarumugam, the liftman, sets off a chain of tensions: Aarumugam directs Thiru to take the stairs while the women opt for the elevator, and his gaze lingers on Bhavani and Chithra, stirring Thiru’s protectiveness but also his restraint.

The following day, a simple coffee run escalates into conflict. Thiru crosses paths with Aarumugam at a tea stall, where a confrontation leaves Thiru battered and Aarumugam with a broken tooth. Little by little, Thiru learns that Aarumugam and his accomplices—Suresh, Vinoth, and Santhan—are not just petty troublemakers but professional criminals who rob the rich and even kill. Their latest plan to ambush a wealthy target is foiled by Thiru’s intervention, prompting them to seek revenge.

In retaliation, Aarumugam and his cohort coerce Dr. Venugopal into injecting a drug into Marimuthu, a deed that deteriorates the father’s health and sows fear and guilt in Thiru. The criminals intensify their harassment, manipulating hospital staff and even using a nurse, Mullai, to manipulate Thiru’s grandmother into signing unnecessary documentation. Thiru’s world narrows to caring for his father, who increasingly struggles with pain and the hospital system.

Aarumugam’s malice grows darker when he learns Thiru’s niece Sharmi is in danger. He abducts and threatens her, pushing her toward a dangerous tank. Thiru acts swiftly to rescue Sharmi, but the incident lands her in the hospital, deepening the peril surrounding them. The case draws public attention: news channels broadcast the hospital’s turmoil, and police begin pursuing the criminals.

The four men retreat to their hideout beneath the city’s radar, where they dispose of bodies and hatch further schemes. In a moment of panic, Vinoth slips and reveals to Thiru that the criminals injected the drug into Marimuthu. Aarumugam even abducts Venugopal’s wife when she threatens to expose them, hoping to sever any link to their crimes. Thiru tracks them down and, in a climactic confrontation, defeats the criminals and rescues Venugopal’s wife.

Returning to the hospital, Thiru learns that Marimuthu has vanished from the ward. He searches tirelessly and eventually finds his father on a roadside bench. Marimuthu reveals a painful truth: he cannot bear the suffering, does not want to linger in hospital, and fears he might die before Thiru’s wedding. This moment crystallizes Thiru’s resolve. In the end, the couple—Bhavani and Thiru—are married in happiness, and both Marimuthu and Sharmi recover, bringing a quiet but hopeful peace to all involved.
