Fascist repression drives the leadership of the Italian Communist Party into exile in Paris. As the regime’s crackdowns in Italy imprison and decimate its militants, the party dispatches Emilio to the Turin area, tasking him with protecting vulnerable whistleblowers and ensuring their testimony can reach the exiled leadership safely.
