In the mid‑1950s, El Nini, a young child raised in the most impoverished, forgotten corner of rural Castile, Spain, lives with his father in a cave. Their only livelihood is the relentless hunting of water rats, a skill taught by nature itself. When authorities move to strip them of their shelter and means of subsistence, a fierce, uncontrollable eruption of violence follows.
