He orders a martini, kisses a woman, and is drawn into a dangerous nightmare. In Stockholm a delegation of Nobel laureates gathers to receive their prizes. Among them is American novelist Andrew Craig, once a celebrated writer now churning out pulp detective fiction to make ends meet. Known for his heavy drinking and womanizing, Craig becomes convinced that physics laureate Dr. Max Stratman has been swapped for an impostor, pulling Craig and his chaperone into a Cold‑War‑era kidnapping scheme.
