The Premonition

Andrea Fletcher learns Janie is living nearby with foster parents and resolves to locate her. Her obsession with reuniting with her daughter drives a covert search. This discovery marks the start of a dangerous pursuit.

Andrea, aided by her obsessive boyfriend Jude the circus clown, starts stalking Janie. They identify her routine and approach her outside her school. The threat is physical and personal, foreshadowing the later confrontation.

Andrea breaks into the Bennetts' home and confronts Sheri in Janie's bedroom. A violent struggle ensues, and Andrea flees with Janie's doll. Sheri calls the police, horrified by the intruder and the abduction.

After returning to their squalid apartment, Andrea experiences a nervous breakdown. She and Jude quarrel, and the conflict ends with Jude stabbing Andrea to death. The murder punctuates the break in and the decline of Andrea's grip on reality.

Sheri starts experiencing psychic visions that feel like premonitions about Janie’s safety and of Andrea's presence in a spectral form. The visions intensify the sense of danger surrounding Janie. Miles consults Jeena Kingsly for parapsychology input, and Det. Lt. Mark Denver begins an official search for Andrea.

Sheri experiences a disturbing vision of an eviscerated Andrea laughing in Janie's bed and begins receiving taunting calls from Andrea. Sheri believes Andrea has placed a curse, misreading the supernatural signs. The spectral messages heighten the urgency to protect Janie.

During a heavy rainstorm, Sheri takes Janie to the university to meet Miles and Jeena. Their car acts of its own accord and crashes; Sheri is hospitalized and Janie goes missing. The search for Janie intensifies in the aftermath.

Janie wanders toward the carnival where Jude works and is taken in by him. He hides her from the police who are looking for her. The carnival becomes a focal point as the search continues to close in on Jude and the child.

Lenore, the carnival fortune teller, tries to alert the authorities about Janie, but Jude murders her before she can. The town grows more unsettled as danger looms closer. Sheri senses that Janie is running out of time.

Jeena suggests Sheri attempt to appeal to Andrea's spirit to guide Janie to safety. Sheri performs one of Andrea's piano pieces in the town square to evoke Andrea's presence. The performance becomes a dramatic focal point that could reunite mother and daughter.

Jude tries to flee town with Janie asleep in his RV as the town gathers for the performance. Miles sees a painting of a horse on the back of the truck, mirroring a vision, and breaks into the RV to search for Janie but finds nothing. The chase moves toward the town square as the performance builds to its climax.

As Sheri's performance reaches its crescendo, Janie appears from the crowd and walks toward her mother. Janie collapses from exhaustion as the moment unfolds, leaving a haunting note on their reunion. The film closes with the fragile, haunted mother-daughter connection.
