In a small town near Salamanca, 60‑year‑old Alejandro, a wealthy widower who spends his days playing music, chess and tending his shotgun, becomes fascinated by Gregoria – “Goyita” – a precocious 13‑year‑old budding naturalist, the daughter of a timid policeman and his domineering wife.
