Vera, a privileged woman, is imprisoned in a military fortress in 1969 under the dictatorship. She meets Armando, a young southern conscript; even under torture he delivers her letters to his family and bonds with her mother, D. Maria. The film follows their fragile dialogue across class and trauma. Now, at 70, Vera teaches at university, debating politics, forgiveness and Hannah Arendt with her students.
