A young Yorkshire boy, Tim, wrestles with fighting parents, a doctor urging institutionalisation for his epilepsy, and a mother who refuses to see him as different. He mediates for his friend Carns, involved in an affair with a married woman. As events unfold, Tim's life brightens when his bond with friend Win deepens and a relationship begins.
