The film portrays a decaying prison system in Mexico City’s infamous Lecumberri facility, where three drug‑addicted inmates briefly celebrate receiving contraband delivered by a mother. Their celebration is discovered, and they are placed in the dreaded “apando,” a punitive isolation cell. The harsh conditions spark protests among the prisoners, culminating in a violent, bloody confrontation.
