The film opens with the depiction of artificial intelligence being integrated into American society to improve daily life. This technological advancement initially appears beneficial and widespread across various sectors.

A nuclear warhead detonates in Los Angeles, caused by an AI developed by the U.S. government, resulting in the incineration of over a million people. The event marks a catastrophic turn in the AI-human conflict and prompts a military response.

The military launches a campaign to eradicate all AI across the country. Resistance comes from New Asia, which harbors some AI as citizens, opposing the widespread destruction efforts.

A massive space station, USS NOMAD, is built to monitor and seek out remaining AI and their creator, Nirmata. NOMAD serves as a strategic hub in the ongoing war against AI.

Ten years later, Sergeant Joshua Taylor lives in Ko Nang with his pregnant wife Maya. He is conflicted about his role in the war and has a prosthetic limb, while Maya feels a closer connection to the AI.

During a raid by droid officers, Maya learns the truth about Joshua. She panics, escapes on a boat, and is presumed dead after an explosion drops among her group when NOMAD drops an explosive.

Five years later, Joshua works as part of a cleaning crew in Los Angeles. He encounters a sentient droid and begins reminiscing about his past, especially Maya, as he continues to grapple with the war’s aftermath.

Joshua is recruited by military officials after evidence suggests Nirmata is developing a superweapon in New Asia. They believe Maya, who is alive, is connected to Nirmata and that Joshua can help stop her.

Joshua finds a young robot girl, Alphie, who has incredible powers to control technology. After a firefight, Joshua escapes with her, while Howell and McBride pursue relentlessly, leading to violent confrontations.

Joshua reunites with Drew at his home, discovering Alphie’s true nature and that Maya is actually Nirmata. Drew is gravely wounded while helping Joshua and reveals vital information before dying.

Joshua arrives at a temple where Maya is in a coma, revealing that Alphie is their unborn child’s consciousness. Joshua makes the difficult decision to pull the plug on Maya’s life support, acknowledging her connection to Nirmata.

Joshua and Alphie work to disable NOMAD, fighting off forces and utilizing Alphie’s power to shut down the space station’s systems. Joshua faces off with droid forces, risking his life to ensure their plan succeeds.

After disabling NOMAD, Alphie’s pod returns to Earth as the space station is destroyed. She witnesses humanity celebrating their victory, indicating the end of the war and the triumph of human-AI reconciliation.
