A sales representative and a secretary live in the suburbs while she works in Paris, forcing them to spend long hours on commuter trains and see little of each other. They scramble to swap jobs in hopes of spending more time together, but the story dwells less on plot than on the relaxed, carefree mood of early‑mid‑1970s France. Set before the 1974 oil crisis turned into recession, the film captures the era’s optimism and housing challenges, buoyed by strong performances from Marthe Keller and Jacques Higelin.
