In a mist‑filled Druidic forest, shepherd Céladon and shepherdess Astrée share a pure, chaste love. Deceived by a rival suitor, Astrée rejects Céladon, who, in despair, throws himself into a river. Believed dead, nymphs rescue him, and he vows never to appear before her again. Bound by his oath, he must disguise himself, face jealous rivals and magical trials to lift the curse and reunite with Astrée without breaking his promise.
