The Prophet, the Gold, and the Transylvanians

The Brad brothers were arrested because they were searching for their brother John Brad, who had a wanted poster with a bounty on his head. They were falsely accused of crimes linked to their brother's alleged actions. Judge Dolittle initially sentenced them to hanging, but the Prophet intervened and instead took them to work as farmhands on his farm, seemingly saving them from execution.

After escaping from the prophet's farm with Bob, the Brad brothers settled in a small hut beneath a Romanian flag. While fishing in the local streams, they unexpectedly found gold nuggets glinting in the water, giving them a source of wealth and hope for a better future.

The miners were too afraid to oppose Prophet Waltrobe and his men. Although John attempted to organize them against the prophet's control over gold prices and shipments to Salt Lake City, the miners preferred to maintain the uneasy status quo rather than risk the harsh reprisals that had already harmed many who dared to resist.

Traian possessed a Turkish pistol that was an artifact from the siege of Plevna, a famous historical battle. This pistol gave him an unexpected advantage during confrontations, and he used it with surprising skill in the gunfight at the saloon, winning a large sum of money from Jeff Groghan during a poker game.

Prophet Waltrobe ruled Cedar City through his son Marshal Joshua Waltrobe and their group of ruffians. They intimidated miners and tightly controlled both prices and access to gold. The prophet shipped the miners' gold to Salt Lake City, ensuring the wealth generated from their dangerous work never returned to them, creating a system of exploitation.

Waltrobe's men attacked a lone man and his daughter as a cruel reminder of the cost of resistance. John Brad intervened and rescued the girl, bringing her to the Brad brothers' hut. This act strengthened the alliance between John and the Brads, forming a united front against the prophet's oppression.

After Judge Dolittle sentenced the Brad brothers to hanging, Prophet Waltrobe intervened and took them to his farm to work as farmhands rather than executing them. This was not an act of mercy, the brothers became forced laborers under the prophet's watchful eye, essentially trading one form of captivity for another.

The Brad brothers, John, Bob, and the rescued girl planned to stop the party that was transporting the miners' gold away from the camp. This direct challenge to the prophet's wealth and power forced the climactic confrontation. In the gunfight, the group successfully defended the miners' camp, drove away Waltrobe's band, and reclaimed the stolen gold.

Jeff Groghan was a veteran gunfighter summoned by Prophet Waltrobe. He arrived on the same train as the Brad brothers. At the railway station, Groghan was immediately drawn into a gunfight, and later in a saloon, Traian Brad won a significant amount of money from him during a poker game. The prophet hired Groghan as a hired gun to enforce his control over the town.

Prophet Waltrobe was captured following the final gunfight at the mining camp. His defeat marked the end of his dictatorial control over Cedar City. With Waltrobe captured, the old order's power fell, and the Brads, Bob, and the rescued girl rode away into the sunset, signaling a new dawn of freedom and hope for the town.
