Georges Montero, an Algerian‑born Frenchman, runs an olive‑canning factory in Oran. He goes to Paris for cataract surgery and befriends his French‑Arab surgeon, estranged from his past. His sister Marinette and immigrant friend Belka urge him to stay in France to sell factory, raising tension. The film probes identity, exile and post‑colonial strife.
