Edogawa Rampo, a celebrated writer, sees his latest novel banned as too disturbing. After he burns the manuscript, his publisher hands him a newspaper article recounting events identical to his story. The film blurs fantasy and reality, echoing Poe and Dracula, using bold expressionist visuals—animation, CGI, grainy black‑and‑white and color negatives—to heighten the eerie atmosphere.
